Dipinto a 1638 o 1639 , questa versione è ora al prado ed è considerata la sua opera finale , mentre era malato di gotta . fu commissionato da filippo iv di Spain's fratello Cardinal-Infante ferdinando d'austria e via Ferdinand's la morte si trasferì nella collezione reale spagnola . In 1788 carlo iii di spagna decise che era immodesto e ordinò che fosse bruciato , ma morì prima che quell'ordine potesse essere eseguito .
